The Laughing Otter- because life’s just too short

Oh my gosh…

Posted on: October 11, 2008

Has it really been so long since I updated? I’m so sorry! I guess this week has been insane, very hectic. Nothing terribly bad, although we had another scare with the baby (terrible, terrible back cramps that may have been preterm labor, but fortunately turned out to be a kidney infection), and then a midwives appointment which reveals that my kid is breech.

They’ve decided I have a week to try exercises to convince him to turn, and then they’ll schedule my appointment for a ‘version’, which is where they give me a shot to relax the uterus and then the doctor will manually flip him over, so that I don’t have to get a C-section. I’m so glad they caught this now, and not when I went into labor!

So meanwhile, I have a week’s bento pictures to post, and some pics of the puppies and stuff. I have to admit, some of these bento I didn’t make- I was so tired. So exhausted! Ennosuke really stepped up, though- Orion really needs a lunch every day, and a good hearty one. None of this ‘oh, have a sammich and a cookie’ nonsense that I can get away with- no, he needs good, hefty food, with proteins and carbs in a good, healthy balance. While I can’t say Ennosuke cooks, he does open a mean can of soup. Thank Heavens, honestly- I fell asleep at around ten or earlier! It was just such a busy day, busy week, that I just… crashed, really hard. I mean, I slept for more than twelve hours last night!

Well, in the meantime, we had first frost last night- I have three comforters on my bed, and if I keep my head under the blankets, I’m warm. Hooray! The best thing about this cold is that my carrots are going to be so sweet when I finally get them out of the ground.

In the meantime, I have … two pictures of a bento I made for Orion, while the rest of the week the pictures are still on Ennosuke’s phone, which is dead. So, enjoy these!

A block of chicken flavored rice, and steamed asparagus and broccoli nested with chicken skewers on a bed of lettuce.

Snack Bento, with carrot sticks and dressing, apple chunks, and mozzarella cheese.

So, that’s the last bento I had the energy to make! More later, once his phone is alive again…

To tide you over, have a puppy!

It’s the best pic we could get of them! She just wouldn’t hold still!

Standard dose of allergies!
Cat Pillows: Standard dose of allergies!

I’d hate to have King sized allergy pillows!

Here’s a bunch of stuff that I have left over from the week:

Koda in an ogre hat-blanket thing I bought for the baby.

Koda in a polar bear snugglesuit I bought for the baby. I wish people would stop dressing the dog in the baby's clothes...
