The Laughing Otter- because life’s just too short

Good evening…

Finally! I relax! *stretches out to post* It’s so nice to have finished early a little bit early tonight. Dinner is finished- a goulash, made with leftover spaghetti sauce, a pound of hamburger, and some … rigatoni noodles? I think. It turned out nicely, actually. Very filling, and very easy. I even had leftovers!

So into the morning bento for Orion went some of the goulash (which I don’t think is actually a goulash by technical definition, but it’s what I was taught to make), a salad topped with smoked turkey lunch meat and bell pepper strips and a container of Catalina dressing, and a hard-boiled egg and mozzarella cheese sticks, and some carrot chunks.

Here’s a pic!

The other day we went to the pet store, hoping for a shampoo and some dog food. My poor Cocoa has a nasty flea allergy and the house is full of fleas… so we had to buy a special shampoo to help with the itching. Poor baby. At the pet store, we saw… a chinchilla!

So cute!

Today, though, I have to admit I had a moment of rar… Cocoa got ahold of Abby’s teething Nylabone. It’s not for heavy chewers, and Cocoa wasn’t supposed to get it- she knows better, too! She took it into a corner and chewed it into pieces… all because it was Abby’s special toy and she wasn’t allowed to play with it.

I was so very frustrated! Such a bad dog. I need to buy a new one, now. Abby can chew the little one, but it’s just not good for her to chew on the tattered end.

In other news, Ennosuke found me a picture that I really love! It’s from the LOLdogs pictures.

It was just so cute I couldn’t resist it!

In the meantime, here’s those bento I missed making. Ennosuke made them for Orion while I was exhausted.

So nice of him to make these for Orion for me!

So other than that, we’re just resting up. Tomorrow’s going to be so busy! I have a vet appointment for Abby at 10:30, a class on breastfeeding at 1pm, a midwives appointment at 3:30 and more errands in the evening. But it’ll be nice- everything all done in one day!

Have a great night!

Has it really been so long since I updated? I’m so sorry! I guess this week has been insane, very hectic. Nothing terribly bad, although we had another scare with the baby (terrible, terrible back cramps that may have been preterm labor, but fortunately turned out to be a kidney infection), and then a midwives appointment which reveals that my kid is breech.

They’ve decided I have a week to try exercises to convince him to turn, and then they’ll schedule my appointment for a ‘version’, which is where they give me a shot to relax the uterus and then the doctor will manually flip him over, so that I don’t have to get a C-section. I’m so glad they caught this now, and not when I went into labor!

So meanwhile, I have a week’s bento pictures to post, and some pics of the puppies and stuff. I have to admit, some of these bento I didn’t make- I was so tired. So exhausted! Ennosuke really stepped up, though- Orion really needs a lunch every day, and a good hearty one. None of this ‘oh, have a sammich and a cookie’ nonsense that I can get away with- no, he needs good, hefty food, with proteins and carbs in a good, healthy balance. While I can’t say Ennosuke cooks, he does open a mean can of soup. Thank Heavens, honestly- I fell asleep at around ten or earlier! It was just such a busy day, busy week, that I just… crashed, really hard. I mean, I slept for more than twelve hours last night!

Well, in the meantime, we had first frost last night- I have three comforters on my bed, and if I keep my head under the blankets, I’m warm. Hooray! The best thing about this cold is that my carrots are going to be so sweet when I finally get them out of the ground.

In the meantime, I have … two pictures of a bento I made for Orion, while the rest of the week the pictures are still on Ennosuke’s phone, which is dead. So, enjoy these!

So, that’s the last bento I had the energy to make! More later, once his phone is alive again…

To tide you over, have a puppy!

I’d hate to have King sized allergy pillows!
